Wikipedia was among several websites to shut down Wednesday in protest of anti-piracy bills now in Congress that critics say could amount to censorship.Instead of the usual encyclopedia articles, visitors to Wikipedia's English-language site were greeted by a message about the decision to black out its Web page for an entire day.

Back in 2007, Ja Rule and Lil Wayne were arrested after a concert in New York City, New York, with Weezy facing a shorter sentence than Ja. Speaking from prison to Vlad TV, Ja said that his lengthier sentence of two years was because of the circumstances of the gun possessions. “Each case was a little different. He had the same charge, basically, attempting to possess. But the gun wasn’t on his possession either,” says Ja. “I think they got him with the same charge, attempt of possession.

Dre Splits From Monster Cable Products

After striking success over the past few years, Beats By Dre is splitting from Monster Cable Products when its five-year contract expires at the end of 2012. According to Business Week, Beats, which held a 53 percent stake of the $1 billion annual headphone market in 2011, has decided to terminate its partnership with the electronics brand. While each company says that there is no animosity, the publication reports that there was ill will over financial terms, “with divergent views on which side deserves the most credit for the line’s success and Beats balking at its share of the revenue.”

Nas Failed To Attend Angola Concert

An American concert promoter named Patrick Allocco says that he and his son were kidnapped after Nas failed to show up at a New Year’s Eve performance in Angola. Allocco, who serves as CEO for AllGood Entertainment, and his son were kidnapped at gunpoint by employees of local “concert impresario” Henrique “Riquhino” Miguel, who had supplied money for the show. Allocco had paid Nas and opening act Jemiah Jai $315,000 to perform two shows but both artists failed to get on flights to Angola.

Snoop Dogg Arrested For Marijuana Possession

Snoop Dogg was arrested in Texas this past weekend after a drug-sniffing dog uncovered marijuana on his tour bus. The Doggfather’s tour bus was stopped by border patrol at a checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, the same location where Willie Nelson was arrested for weed in 2010. Agents discovered a prescription bottle with several marijuana joints inside of it totaling under a half-ounce of weed. Snoop said that the weed was his and had a prescription for it, but Texas has a zero tolerance policy for weed regardless of his status in other states.

NEW YORK -- Music royalty Beyonce and Jay-Z are the proud parents of a baby girl named Blue Ivy, media reports said, breaking the news of one of the biggest celebrity births in years. Pop diva Beyonce, 30, gave birth by caesarian section on Saturday night in a private wing of the Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan with rapper Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, by her side, E! Online reported. Initial reports had the baby’s name as Ivy Blue, but those close to the couple confirmed later it was the other way around.

[Update] Wiz Khalifa's still riding off the high of his smash single "Black and Yellow" reaching triple platinum status, but that high may soon come crashing down. News broke today that Wiz has been served with a lawsuit claiming that he stole the concept behind his hit single from another Pennsylvania artist. The songwriter Max Gregory Warren of Sharon, PA filed a suit against the Pittsburgh rapper for allegedly stealing the concept for "Black and Yellow" from his copyrighted '07 track "Pink N Yellow."

No Interviews For Chris Brown This Year

Following a handful of dicey interviews over the past few years, Chris Brown may not talk to the press through 2012. During an interview with Billboard magazine, Brown’s manager Tina Davis said that they will not be focusing on interviews in 2012 but will instead divert attention to performing and recording. “[The goal for 2012 is to] not have him do interviews but to concentrate on performing and recording,” said Davis.
