Singer-songwriter Ester Dean has signed a management deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. The 24-year-old broke the news on Twitter (via Rap-Up). “I’m so Grateful 4 my Team Past and Present! Bringing in the New Year with my new Team @RocNation 2012,” she tweeted. The Oklahoma native has lent her pen to dozens of artists in the game. Credits include Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass,” Rihanna’s “What’s My Name?” featuring Drake, Usher’s “Lil Freak” featuring Minaj and Dr. Dre’s “Under Pressure” featuring Jay-Z.

Pepsi To Distribute 50 Cent Street King Energy Shot

50 Cent has announced a deal with Pepsi to distribute his Street King energy shot. Breaking the news on Twitter, Fif plans to bring his energy shot to new markets. The business deal comes shortly after he launched the shot in September 2011, with the intention to supply a child in need with a meal for every shot purchased.
“I did a deal with Pepsi to distribute streetking its gonna be every were buy a bottle feed some one in need,” he tweeted.
50 Cent has dealt with soft drink companies before, having sold his Glaceau Vitamin Water stake to Coca-Cola in 2007. He made off with $400 million from the deal.

Rick Ross may not forgive, but apparently the government of Nigeria's Cross River State doesn't either. The Bawse was recently slapped with a lawsuit by the Nigerian state's government for canceling a performance date at the Calabar Festival and failing to reimburse the performance fees. According to a recent article from InformationNigeria.org, Rick Rozay abruptly cancelled his performance at this year's Calabar Festival, a nearly month-long music festival funded by the Cross River State government.

Yung Joc Denies Involvement In Studio Robbery

Rapper Yung Joc's Atlanta studio was robbed recently and the 28-year-old rapper is being accused of taking part in the crime, of which $70,000 worth of equipment was stolen. According to WSBTV.com, authorities visited the crime scene on Dec. 18, after the 'New Joc City' creator, born YaMar Robinson, reported the robbery, which he denies taking any part in. Joc claims that his brother and his brother's girlfriend were outside of the studio, located on Boyd Ave., in Atlanta, when an unknown attacker forced them inside the location. Afterwards, their mouths were taped, zip ties were placed around their wrists and they were forced to stay in the bathroom.

Jay-Z's legal troubles continue, as the Brooklyn emcee has been sued by the Workers Compensation Board of New York. The suit alleges that Jay failed to pay worker's compensation insurance for three months in 2009. The insurance, which was supposed to cover domestic employees in the emcee's home, was allegedly properly paid after the three months. The Workers Compensation Board sued Jay-Z for $18,000 in fines, though sources reportedly say that the figure is the result of a clerical error.

John C.
