According to AHH, DMX was released from Arizona state prison earlier yesterday after a seven-month stay. His first stop is a visit to his probation officer and a shopping trip. "Our goal is to keep DMX on the right track, and get him back to work,” said a source close to the rapper. He is reportedly fielding offers for movies, TV and music projects.

Jay-Z has quoted Notorious B.I.G.'s lyrics several times in his music, weaving his rhymes into his own verses. In an interview with Roc4Life, Hov explains that his quoting B.I.G. is to keep his name alive and inspire his raps. “There was a vow in that song about Big. So doing that was my way of always keeping him fresh and keeping his music fresh on everyone's mind,” he said. “So I'm inspired by music and I'm a fan and a historian. I study music and different emotions and things like that. So, if I'm inspired by it, I just use it. It's not a crutch for me. I can write a song without using anyone’s lyric at all.”

After hinting that Tha Carter IV might be his last album, Lil Wayne is backpedaling on his statements. Speaking with MTV News, Weezy explained that he’s “not sure” when he’ll duck out from the game, but promises that he won’t drag it through the years like some of his peers have done. “I'm not sure; I'm not gonna Brett Favre y'all," he said. "I'm not gonna draw it all the way out the whole year: 'We wondering, is Wayne gonna do this?' But the honest answer is I don't know."

Just ask Mary J Blige, whose purported collaboration with Nicki Minaj on a song called "Feel Inside" prematurely surfaced online a few weeks ago. Though Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo are no longer signed to Interscope, 50 Cent believes his G-Unit brethren's situation has worked out for the best - beginning with Banks' The Hunger For More 2. "Banks' project is the beginning of them flying solo, flying without my assistance so much," said Fif in an interview with MTV News. "Like on all their other albums and singles, I was featured on their projects to help bring attention to it and get 'em off into the right space," he continued. "This go-around is, like, for them to go away from me and do it on their own. They're setting up shop on their own on this project."

According to MTV’s RapFix, Kidd Kidd is the latest to join the team, with Fif breaking the news on the set of Tony Yayo’s upcoming video for “Haters.” The New Orleans, Louisiana recently released his single “Better Walk” featuring 50 Cent, a cut off his May 2011 release The Reallionaire. He previously explained that Fif supported his music and recently hit up his album release party.

Even though it's taken him longer than he expected to release his The R.E.D. Album, Game has been keeping his fans in no short supply of new music this year. Now, Game is teaming up with producer Mars of 1500 Or Nothin' to release his third mixtape of 2011. Last night, Game took to Twitter to announce that he and Mars would join forces for a new mixtape, slated to be released before his long-awaited The R.E.D. Album's August 23 release date. Then, earlier today, Mars followed suit, revealing that the tape, titled Hood Mornin', will hit the Internet on August 1.
