News Jay-Z's legal troubles continue, as the Brooklyn emcee has been sued by the Workers Compensation Board of New York. The suit alleges that Jay failed to pay worker's compensation insurance for three months in 2009. The insurance, which was supposed to cover domestic employees in the emcee's home, was allegedly properly paid after the three months. The Workers Compensation Board sued Jay-Z for $18,000 in fines, though sources reportedly say that the figure is the result of a clerical error. |

News The beef between 50 Cent and T.I which was held on Twitter has come to an end. Last month, Twitter played the battleground to yet another beef involving 50 Cent when the Queens rapper said that T.I. should have let his wife Tameka "Tiny" Cottle take the rap for their 2010 drug charges. Now, Fiddy says that the two rappers have officially squashed their feud. According to a recent interview with Vibe, Fif and Tip quelled their Twitter feud with a phone call. 50 said that although things were pretty heated between him and the King of the South, he did make sure that there were no hard feelings between the two artists. |
Nelly Sued For Credit Card Debt By American Express

News Nelly ran up a $20,403.64 credit card bill with American Express -- which seems totally reasonable for a big name rap star. Just one problem ... AMEX says he never paid it! The credit card company filed a lawsuit against Nelly (real name Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr) in Missouri back in October to try and get their money back (plus another $3,000 in attorney's fees). So far though, they claim Nelly has refused to pay what he owes. A court hearing is scheduled for January 9. Calls to Nelly's camp were not returned. |

A Lebanese concert promoter is now suing the rapper for ruining his reputation by smoking marijuana at a 2009 concert. According to sources, Snoop is being sued by a Lebanese concert promoter for smoking marijuana at a 2009 performance at the Forum de Beruit, which he claims harmed his reputation in his community. The incident in question was apparently captured on film and later used in the video for Snoop's '09 song "That's Tha Homie" from Malice N Wonderland.

Buju Banton Appeals Drug Conviction

The Associated Press reports that Banton (born Mark Myrie) and his attorney, David O. Markus are alleging that a government informant "relentlessly pursued" the star, in exchange for $50,000. Additionally, the Gargamel Records artist maintains that there is not conclusive evidence to the conviction, for which he is presently serving.

LOS ANGELES (Around 3PM)— A music executive critically wounded by a gunman who opened fire Friday in Hollywood died Monday of his injuries, Los Angeles police said.
John C. Atterberry, 40, of Hollywood Hills, was driving near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street when he was shot three times in the face and neck by the gunman, later identified by authorities as Tyler Brehm, 26, of Los Angeles.

The Atlanta, Georgia rapper, who has been in and out of jail over the past few years, swore that it would be his last time behind bars. “This is the last time I think I’ll ever be in jail,” he told XXLMag.com. “I really feel that way.” While incarcerated, Gucci had time to think about his past crimes and mistakes, giving him a newfound perspective on his freedom. “It was a time for me to sit back and just refocus the whole way I do things, man,” Gucci said. “The times away from my fans just made me want to grind, get in the studio, go to my shows and appreciate my job and what I do now.”

40 Glocc Arrested For Strangling His Girlfriend

40 Glocc, former G-Unit rapper was arrested in October in Las Vegas, Nevada after strangling his girlfriend three times in one day. According to TMZ, 40 Glocc, whose real name is Lawrence White, has been incarcerated since the event took place on October 3rd. The police report says that 40 accused his girlfriend of "playing him," prompting him to hit her in the head, face legs and ribs as well as choking her to the point where "she could not speak or breathe." |
