Even though it's taken him longer than he expected to release his The R.E.D. Album, Game has been keeping his fans in no short supply of new music this year. Now, Game is teaming up with producer Mars of 1500 Or Nothin' to release his third mixtape of 2011. Last night, Game took to Twitter to announce that he and Mars would join forces for a new mixtape, slated to be released before his long-awaited The R.E.D. Album's August 23 release date. Then, earlier today, Mars followed suit, revealing that the tape, titled Hood Mornin', will hit the Internet on August 1.

Game has been working on his highly anticipated R.E.D. Album since 2009, but he promises that it will finally be released in August. The Compton, California native revealed that his label Interscope Records confirmed with him that the consistently delayed offering will drop by the end of summer. “I had a meeting with [Interscope head] Jimmy Iovine last week, and he told me the album was slated for the end of the summer, and it will not be pushed back any more than that. So we're looking towards late August," he told Billboard.com.

Gucci Mane Released From Prison?

False reports of Gucci Mane's release from prison this holiday weekend arose, but records indicate that the rapper is still locked up. MTV reports that the rapper, who is serving time for a battery charge alleging that he shoved a female passenger from his moving vehicle, is still being held in the pen but will be release sometime this week. In 2005, Gucci skated on a murder charge due to insufficient evidence from prosecutors, and has served prison time regarding assault and drug charges. This past March, he released a 1017 Brick Squad street album titled The Return of Mr. Zone 6.

So far the year 2011 has brought on various trends including the re-emergence of tattoos in strange places. In addition to the electric triple-scoop of soft serve Gucci Mane got tattooed on his cheek, Yung LA’s immediately regrettable Duct Tape Entertainment tattoo, Diamond’s sideburn bullet and Rick Ross’ Cazal logo, R&B singer Lloyd has inked a mini mural of guns and roses that covers the back and sides of his head. Lloyd revealed his ink on BET’s “106 & Park” with co-host Rocsi Diaz who has previously enlisted the services of Lloyd’s tattoo artist.

The promoter for Atlantic City’s Summer Fest 2011 doesn’t expect any problems once the festival takes place on Saturday, July 2 but he isn’t taking any chances when it comes to security.
