Jay-Z has always been open to collaborate with anyone he thinks is worthy, whether they be a Hip-Hop artist or a rock act, most notably his two collaborations with Chris Martin, on his own track “Beach Chair” and a remix of the Coldplay song “Lost.” So last year when Jay-Z toured Australia with Rock and Roll megastars U2 it may have come as a surprise to sum but it really shouldn’t have. During shows on that sold out stint Jay would often hop on stage with the Irish legends to perform a brand new verse during their classic single “Sunday Bloody Sunday.” |

MTV News caught up with label mates Drake and Nicki Minaj recently in New Orleans before a show on the I Am Music 2 Tour. In a twist instead of having correspondent Sway interview the two superstars the two rappers asked each other a few questions each. Drizzy wanted to know if Nicki was planning on dropping any new material any time soon. She responded, “Well, you know, Drizzy, I have been keeping everything sort of stored inside of me. So I’m just in complete tour mode. I’ve been getting a lot of requests to do some features, but if I can’t give myself wholeheartedly, you know, I always pass. |

Krayzie Bone announced today via video that he will no longer be a part of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. It appears that the 2010 Uni5: The World’s Enemy album will be the group’s last effort with all founding members participating. “I just wanted to take the time out right now to let everybody know about some major changes in my career and in my life,” Krayzie said. “Just so everybody knows that I will no longer be a part of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony due to uncontrollable circumstances. It’s basically time for me to move on with different endeavors that I’ve already had planned in my life.” |

Snoop Dogg may be teaming up with the UK's David Beckham for a children's fashion line soon. In an interview with UK's The Mirror, Snoop acknowledged that he had plans to do some work with the soccer star, adding that "it's going to be fly." According to reports out of England.
“I’d love to do a Babygro range and baby house shoes with Beckham," he said in the interview, speaking on Beckham's latest family addition. “It’s going to be fly. It’s great news they are having a baby.”......

Lauryn Hill’s recent tour was met with much criticism the former Fugees member has just announced the Moving Target: Extended Intimate Playdate Series, a series of new tour dates. The tour is expected to make stops in 12 different cities including Atlanta, Miami, Portland, Denver, New Orleans, and more.
"One of the benefits of playing venues smaller than the ones I'm used to allows me the opportunity to not only reconnect with my supporters but to expose them to a portion of the musical journey I've been on which the world for the most part has not had access to,” said Lauryn Hill in a statement. “I've never shied away from being musically adventurous, nor am I known for being a lightweight when it comes to lyrical content or musical exploration.” |

It was strictly A-list names at the top of the list when the lead finalists for the 2011 Billboard Music Awards were announced Wednesday (April 13). In the lead among all nominees was Rihanna, a finalist in 18 categories, who was followed by fellow multiple-award finalists Eminem, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber. Among the categories Rihanna is up for awards in are: Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Female Artist, Top R&B Artist and Top Dance/Electronic Artist, while her smash collaboration with Eminem, "Love the Way You Lie," racked up notices in six song categories. The N.W.A. family tree looms large, and you can easily connect the dots between many of today’s emcees and Eazy-E, MC Ren, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and even DJ Yella. But a recently unsealed FBI document links both Eazy-E and Tupac Shakur to an alleged extortion attempt by the Jewish Defense League. As with many redacted government documents, many key names were omitted.
“On September 11, 1996 [omitted] reported that JDL, and others yet unidentified have been extorting money from various rap music stars via death threats,” the report states. ......."
