I’m so light-headed: Rihanna ‘has a meltdown’ and turns to Beyoncé for advice as gruelling world tour gets the better of her
Rihanna is currently working her way through a mammoth 101-date world tour, so you can’t blame Rihanna for being a little tired. In fact, the singer has been so rundown recently that she threatened to cancel one of her shows. According to reports the 23-year-old ‘went into meltdown’ hours before her concert in Dublin over the weekend and she turned to fellow superstar Beyoncé for help.
The R’n’B star advised her younger counterpart to continue with the tour, but to take a year off when she’s finished to recuperate. After the show she tweeted: ‘I’m so light-headed!’. A source apparently told the newspaper: ‘She’s just a young woman who just wants to have fun, but she was feeling pretty low. ‘It’s a mix of exhaustion and stress. She’s been partying hard to take her mind off things, but there are days when she wakes up and doesn’t even know where she is because of the travelling. ‘It’s no wonder she is feeling down.’ The singer has 16 more dates to fulfil as part of her Loud tour, seven of which are in the UK. Meanwhile Rihanna is said to be in hot water with one of London’s swankiest hotels. The 23-year-old pop star reportedly forgot to turn off the water in her ($3,100) £2,000 a night suite at The Savoy in central London, flooding her rooms and leaving the carpets a soggy mess. The drama unfolded last Sunday night after The Barbadian beauty appeared on ITV1’s X Factor. A Hotel spokesman remained mum and would only say: ‘We are unable to comment on the guests staying in our hotel.’ But hotel insiders were more than willing to speak out. A source told People: ‘The room where Rihanna was with her entourage flooded when the bath taps were left on. ‘They all left the room and when they came back the carpets were wet through. There was no lasting damage but it took a while to dry out. All of the party were hugely apologetic. ‘They were told not to worry. People at the hotel were joking that those in the floor below would need umbrellas – just like Rihanna’s song in 2007,’ the source added. The situation at the Savoy isn’t the only controversy surrounding Rihanna during her visit to London. The singer was criticised for wearing shoes with ‘f*** you” on them when she appeared on X Factor. Although she did manage to set pulses racing in her naughty schoolgirl-style get-up, pairing the outfit with stockings with a metal-tipped collar and laddered stockings.
