Tip reveals that his eighth album will arrive at the top of next year.

T.I. has been cutting new records since his release from prison earlier this fall, setting to work on the follow-up to last year’s No Mercy. Speaking with The Boombox, Tip gave an update on the LP, stating that it will most likely arrive in February 2012 and that he’s in no rush to finish it.

“I mean, I don’t feel a certain amount of pressure to get it done by a certain time. I feel the usual pressure of making an album my life, like every time I do an album I feel the pressure of needing to make it my life, you know? But I take that pressure and apply it to my creative process. The tentative date is looking like February,” he said.

The self-proclaimed King of the South also addressed why he’s rapping harder now more than ever, but conceding that he has nothing to prove to anyone else.

“Nah. I mean, I got something to prove to myself. I ain’t got nothing to prove to nobody else ’cause at the end of the day, I’m a marquee artist and I think my numbers speak for themselves. I’m on my eighth album and ain’t nobody eight albums in right now, who’s really relevant. Besides Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, it ain’t a lot [laughs]. You know what I’m saying? Ain’t a lot. So, I got something to prove to myself, not nobody else. I always knew and I will always know what I’m capable of.”
