R&B singer Lloyd is preparing the release of his third studio album, ‘King of Hearts,’ on March 22, and he says this effort is about “stepping outside the box” and “trying new things.” “It is just a complete baring of my soul,” the Lloyd tells UK’s DJ Firestarr. “It’s just kinda me saying F**K it, imma just leave it all out there and it’s kinda like a re-invention of myself and my art.” But for the true Lloyd fans, not to worry. The R&B crooner is not changing his style; he is just expanding through his experiences. “The thing that makes you special is that think that you have that other people don’t. You know you want to hold on to that,” Lloyd says of his sound. “I’ve always been the type of person that just loves to be where ladies are and I love to sing about things that I’ve experienced or dream about with ladies. I’ve always been the kind of person that likes to mix both; streets and the sheets.” Planning to entertain fans for a long time, the “You” hitmaker leaves us with, “From being 17 coming out of South Side (Queens); I’ve come a long way and I still have a long way to go, so this is the next stop of many more to come. ‘King of Hearts,’ lead by the single “Lay With You,” in stores March 22, 2011. |
