Driven by grooving percussion, the slow-tempo, Ester Dean-penned ballad has Monica confessing to her new love (played by Songz) that her man “don’t love [her] like he used to,” and that she plans on leaving him for Trey. “If you need to love somebody / Hey Baby, let me be that body / Here I Am Boy,” she then pleads, as Songz replies, “If I touch you / If I kiss you / If I squeeze you…Girl if you let me in, I’ll do what he never did.” ‘Here I Am’ follows the album’s other singles, ‘Love All Over Me,’ and ‘Everything to Me.’ Go to AOL Radio’s New R&B First station to listen to ‘Here I Am.’ The album debuted at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling 184,000 in its first week, and reached the top of the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
