It’s a Barbie world today, as Nicki Minaj does something Hip Hop hasn’t seen in 12 years.

Early this morning, it was announced that after nearly three months on record store shelves, Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday was the #1 seller this week in America. The Young Money/Universal Motown Records release has officially gone platinum, as well as crossed the domestic million-mark.

This is the first time since Eve’s 1999 debut, Let There Be Eve…Ruff Ryders First Lady that a female Hip Hop artist has had the #1 album in the country. The Queens, New Yorker took to Twitter today to thank her fans for the continued support:
