As 50 Cent teases a single from his upcoming album this week, DJ Whoo Kid says 50 has upwards of 38 potential songs already. It’s been almost two years since 50 Cent’s last proper, studio album Before I Self Destruct. Since its release, 50 has been keeping himself busy with cameo appearances, movies, mixtapes and other business ventures. But Monday, he announced via Twitter that he’s gearing up for another album.
” “I heard like 22 records already,” Whoo Kid said. “He called me the other day, and said he needs 16 more songs. “ Whoo Kid says he will likely hear the rest of the album when he visits 50 in New Orleans on the set of the movie Freelancers. “I’ve heard like nine definitely crazy [songs], and then he’s trying to collab with other people too,” Whoo Kid added. “So it’s still up in the air. I’m assuming this will be the last album on Interscope. But he does a new deal every day. He’ll put it on ThisIs50.com either way, so you’ll know.” Freelancers is set for a 2012 release. But last week 50 Cent announced that he’s also writing another movie, and he plans to drop his new album after finishing the movie script. |
