T.I. and Chris Brown cross the 500,000 mark, Wiz Khalifa returns to the Top 10, and DJ Quik, Cam’ron and Vado hang around for strong second-week independent showings.
Not a lot changed on the charts this week, with the Beastie Boys’ digital pre-release of Hot Sauce Committee, Part 2 missing the Top 200 mark. Recent mainstay Chris Brown passed the 500,000 mark with his F.A.M.E. release, an album that features emcees Ludacris, Busta Rhymes and Tyga.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania emcee Wiz Khalifa’s major label debut, Rolling Papers returned to the Top 10. The album features longtime Wiz associate Curren$y, as well as veteran Oakland, California Hip Hop pioneer Too Short.
Consistently neck and neck, Rihanna’s Loud pushes well past platinum. Bruno Mars’ debut approaches platinum, as Doo-Wops & Holligans gained another five spots this week, after 10 the week before.
Nicki Minaj and her Pink Friday gained eight spots to #27. The platinum Young Money/Universal Records release features Eminem, Kanye West and label-mate Drake.
