‘I never sleep, but I got big dreams,’ Pittsburgh rapper boasts in new track. If Wiz Khalifa wants to be the “best artist of the year” in 2011, then the Pittsburgh rapper might have the perfect track for his goal. His “Big Screen,” an Auto-Tune-aided number about the underground star’s rise to fame, leaked over the weekend, just before he performed his “Black and Yellow” ode to the Steelers at the AFC Championship game in his hometown on Sunday. “Got me drinking out the bottle/ Living for today, thinking about tomorrow/ N—as fake, I can see it with my eyes closed/ In desperate need of a leader so they follow,” the Taylor Gang leader raps over the breezy production. “I never sleep, but I got big dreams,” Wiz says on the hook. “A little n—a, I do big things/ You know it’s everything that it’s seems/ They say my life is like the big screen.” The track is the latest from Wiz to hit the Web, following his Snoop Dogg collaboration “That Good.” The upstart lyricist is looking to deliver two project this year, his Atlantic Records debut, tentatively slated for March, and “High School,” a movie and soundtrack joint effort with Snoop. |
