Rihanna, Drake Collaboration Revealed To Be Alternate Version Of ‘What’s My Name?’
Rihanna described track as ‘young’ and ‘playful’ at London listening event.

Slowly but surely fans are getting to know more about the track that Drake and Rihanna recorded for her November release, Loud. The two have remained pretty tight-lipped about the song, but at a London listening session for the album, which has been described as having “lots of island flavor,” the cat may have been let out of the bag.

According to a review of the album on 4music.com, there’s an alternate version of Rihanna’s reported second single, “What’s My Name?” that features the Canadian MC. The review notes that the song has “strong percussion” and that at the listening session Rihanna herself said that the track is a “young” and “playful” record.

Both Drake and Rihanna have been open to shooting a video for the track, with Rihanna saying, “The second song we did another version with him. We may even shoot a video for it. I went out with him, Trey [Songz] and J. Cole recently. We had a lot of fun.”

And Drake recently added, “I just did this great song. I don’t know if I’m supposed to talk about it. I just did this great song with Rihanna; hopefully we can do a video for it. I’m really excited about that.”

At the London listening party, previously previewed tracks were played for the crowd, and Rihanna noted that she had a certain vibe in mind for her follow-up to 2009’s darker Russian Roulette. “Rihanna explained that the title very much symbolizes the energy of the record and promised that it will take us on a ride. She revealed that her primary aim was to create an album that people would listen to from start to finish, joking that there’s nothing more frustrating than having to get out of the shower to skip a track!” the review noted. “She also promised that it will definitely make us dance.”
