Rihanna’s ‘What’s My Name?’ Hits #1 On Billboard Chart It’s the singer’s third #1 single, including her collaboration with Eminem, of the year. Rihanna’s latest single, “What’s My Name?” has hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, giving the Barbadian beauty her third chart-topper of the year. She scored two #1 records earlier this year, in March with “Rude Boy,” from her last album, Rated R, and in July with her Eminem collaboration, “Love the Way You Lie,” which reigned at #1 for seven weeks. The singer is the first to notch three #1 hits in a year since she achieved the same feat in 2008 with “Take a Bow,” “Disturbia” and T.I.’s “Live Your Life.” “What’s My Name?” is Rihanna’s eighth overall chart-topping single of her young career. The rollicking, island-spiced track features Drake and will appear on Rihanna’s Loud album, set for a November 16 release. Drake and Rihanna recently shot a video for “What’s My Name?” in New York. She described the clip as being “really cute.” “You see what it would be like with a young couple, two 20-year-olds, eating Chinese food in a New York City apartment,” she said. “It’s a really youthful song. It feels good. It’s really flirty, but it’s also really melodic. Which is why I felt that Drake was the perfect person to have on this song, ’cause he’s a young rapper who has incredible melodies. |
